Sharron (Hansen) Prusse

I, Sharron Hansen Prusse, graduated from BYU in April of 1974 and married William David Prusse the following week in 1974 in the Salt Lake Temple. We moved to Denver and have resided in the Denver area for 31 years. David and I have four children, Patricia (Married in Denver Colo. Temple and living in Ct.), Brent (attending UNA), Andrea (just married last week in the Denver Colo. Temple), and Jennifer a Junior in High School.

I have had the opportunity to serve in the Church as RS President and 2nd councilor in the Primary, a Laurel advisor, a Mia Maid advisor, a Beehive advisor, Stake Young Women's 1st and 2nd councilor, and twice as Stake Young Women's President in the Denver area. I am currently serving as 2nd councilor in the Castle Rock Stake and love working with the young women of our stake.

In the community I have served on the local Homeowners board and served as a homeowner's representative to the City Council.

In service to BYU, I am currently serving a four year term on the National Alumni Board as a Regional Director for the Southwest states and have loved meeting and working with people to promote the Spirit of the Y in their local areas.

I have thought often over the past thirty-five years of my invaluable experience I had going on that Semester Abroad to Israel and of the two professors how made it all possible. One can not go to Israel and walk and live where the Savior lived and not be changed for life. I can say I gained my deep testimony of the Savior and his mission through that four month plus stay in Israel.

To LaMar, I give my thanks for always asking for the full deal in planning our travels and giving us the most incredible travel experience of my life. LaMar, thank you also for always being in tune with the spirit that protected us on our amassing travel and showing us the world of the Old and New Testament.

To Keith, I thank you for instilling a love of the Old Testament and museums. You have a way of making the dead come to life. I now drag my family through museums trying in my small way to teach them to respect and appreciation the cultures of the past.

To both of you LaMar and Keith, thank you for giving of your time, taking us to all those unforgettable places, sharing of your knowledge that opened my eyes and mind to the world. Thank you both for help my testimony grow and for the great sacrifice of leaving your families so 38 students from BYU could have the experience of a
life time.
